Listen…

Many times on this blog I share information about how to be your best you, but tonight we’re going to talk about how being the best you will positively contribute to the relationships around you.

Today we’re talking about the ability to listen, listening is a lost skill in my opinion , one in which a person is able to express themselves without the other person waiting for an opportunity to interject or give their opinion. I know it is difficult to Simply listen to a story or exclamation without remembering a similar situation of your own, but I challenge you this weekend to “intentionally listen.” Hear what the person who speaking to you is truly saying, and when they’re finished, respond… But hold your comments until then. This simple self discipline will introduce you to healthier and more fufilling relationships. Let me know how “intentionally listening” affected your weekend, Selah.

Hot Water

Have you ever been taking a bath, enjoying the water , but as time passes you realize that it’s getting kind of warm? What do you do? You turn the knob and allow more hot water to come into the tub. Today I am encouraging you to pour more hot water into your tub. What I mean by this is: typically after a amazing word from God, a revelation, a breakthrough we are excited for a limited amount of time but then the water becomes warm.

I am challenging you today to stay in the tub and pour more hot water in. You pour hot water in by spending time in God’s word, by worshiping, being a blessing to one another, you pour more water in by keeping a positive continence. The temperatures in life will continue to change but we serve a God that does not make us powerless. We have the ability to fill our tub with the abundance of God’s love, provision, and life but you have to choose to stay in the tub don’t give up… You can make it just pour in a little hot water and relax. What do you want…

One of the most incredible gifts God has given us is possiblity. But with that gift, the question must be asked… What is it that you want? Is your heart’s intention to love God, get married, be rich… What matters to you most?

When you learn to answer that question honestly, free from public impression, judgement, or condemnation then you can begin revealing the truest expression of yourself. SELAH

Get up out of the bed of failure, depression, and self hatred. You are enough, you are capable, and even though you breakthrough has not come yet… You are a winner, successful, and victorious! But you can’t win unless you get up, not later right now! Psalms 1:3

The most powerful question

Who must I become to achieve my greatest desire?

It is easy to say… “I’d like to be a teacher, doctor, singer” ect. but do you consider who you need to be to make the dream a reality? It is not helpful in your purpose to want success but not work for success. In every season of my life I go through a phase with God where He is reconstructing my way of thinking. The month of August is the eighth month of the year and eight is the number of new beginnings, in my prayer time God did not share with me a new idea. . he showed me a discipline.

Before I could handle something new I needed to master habits of a person with my gifts. Now this may not be easy for everyone to accept about themselves, but I ask you a question tonight. If you were blessed with the one thing you desire to be or desire to have, could you right now in this moment take care of that gift and prosper in that gift?

If the answer is not a certain yes then you too must ask the question, who do I need to be an order to maximize my gift and potential.

For example if my goal is to graduate college and eventually get my doctorate I have to be a studious student. If I want to be a trainer in a gym I must have the work ethic to make it to the gym more than once a week. If I’d like to be a singer I need to develop the vocal skills needed to perform often. In your life what who has God told you to be? Are you that person, are you trying to be that person or have you simply given up. Knowing is the first step of dramatic change so now that you know ask yourself, then prepare, and watch God transform your life. Selah #SLiM

The audacity to Win

When God places vision inside of you it takes determination, patients, and a confidence that says ” I don’t care what it looks like…. in the end I know that I win! ” Does this concept sound crazy, yes but it is how God works. Don’t believe me, check out Noah he was told to build an arch when the people of that time didn’t know what rain was. Or how about Abraham who was told he could never count his “seed” or contribution to this earth. Still not convinced, well there is Moses who freed God’s people with only a rod and God’s command. God is continually teaching us through His word that we are Made to break the norms so let’s do It!

Be incredibly blessed, unequivocally reliant, courageously strong, and decide today that you will have the audacity to win!!!

Take a step back

When we think about moving backward, it’s usually said negatively, implying the person is regressing instead of improving, when that simply is not true. There are times when we need to step back from the situation, assess where we are, then move forward with a clear head. I know personally, I am a mom, pastor, entrepreneur, student, and much more and if I don’t take a day every now and then to step back, breathe, and organize … then I just might blow up into a million pieces.

Assessing and organizing is a beautiful thing and will require your full attention. If you are trying to organize while doing other tasks, you will continue to feel overwhelmed and stressed. But pressing the pause button on life and getting your thoughts, feeling, and needs in order can propel you farther than consistent work ever will.

Peace, Selah
